Custom CNC mills can be built from off-the-shelf parts. EDM is different. The arc generator is normally not sold on its own, because it has to be designed for the machine it runs in. BaxEDM makes an adaptable generator, so engineers and serious builders can finish a custom wire, hole or sinker machine without designing that generator from scratch.

Why it exists
The generator was the missing part.
The market for custom CNC milling machines is large, both professionally and for serious hobby builds. For EDM, the arc generator is the hurdle. It is a complex piece of hardware, usually designed into a complete machine, and not offered as a component.
BaxEDM’s generator is built to drop into a custom design and still produce professional results. With that part available, a low-cost custom EDM machine is a mechanical and controls project.
